A consular soiree in the House of Receptions

On December 5, 2007 the House of Receptions hosted a traditional New Year reception in honor of consuls general and heads of consular departments accredited in Moscow. The soiree was held by GlavUpDK in cooperation with the MFA Consular Department and with participation of TVEL Corporation, one of the biggest Russian nuclear fuel companies.

Ivan I. Sergeyev, Director General of GlavUpDK opened the soiree, welcomed the guests and noted that the consular corps is one of the most important GlavUpDK’s clients. He congratulated the guests on the upcoming New Year, extended his wishes of success in the consular work the volume of which usually increases on the holidays eve and assured that GlavUpDK would continue to create comfortable environment for work and residence of the consular corps in Russia.

A.V. Grushko, Deputy Foreign Minister addressed the guests on the behalf of the MFA executives. He marked the importance of such meetings contributing to the cooperation between the MFA consular department and consular services of embassies. He congratulated consuls general and heads of consular services on the upcoming New Year and marked the noble mission of the consular corps that protect people and help those in trouble. Mr. Grushko also briefly informed the guests about the history of Savva Morozov’s mansion.

Y.A. Olenin, president of TVEL Corporation also addressed the guests and noted that participation in the consular soiree contributed to expanding international ties of the Corporation that is always open to cooperation.

The soiree continued with a musical performance by Alina Frank,a young soloist of Moscow operetta theatre and a reception accompanied by TriA ensemble.
