On February 29 the GlavUpDK Cultural Center hosted the Great Shrovetide Festival celebrating the end of Russian Winter
The Great Shrovetide Festival in the GlavUpDK Cultural Center started with Russian folk songs and ring dances. The heads of diplomatic missions and their spouses got together to celebrate the end of winter and welcome the upcoming spring. They watched a performance by Talitsa folk ensemble and participated in the Russian ring dances.

On January 15 a New Year reception for foreign journalists accredited in Moscow was held on the behalf of Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs S.V. Lavrov. Following the tradition representatives of mass media gathered in the Cultural Center of GlavUpDK at the beginning of the year to communicate in the informal atmosphere with executives of the Russian foreign policy department and their colleagues from other countries.

On December 5, 2007 the House of Receptions hosted a traditional New Year reception in honor of consuls general and heads of consular departments accredited in Moscow. In this past month of January GlavUpDK organized a traditional Ambassadorial Hunt at the Zavidovo Recreational Complex, a GlavUpDK Affiliate. Despite the freezing Russian cold, 14 Ambassadors turned up at Zavidovo to try their hand as a hunter in the forests of Tver Region.
